Description
Memorial Hall is an early 19th-century building with 20th-century additions. The elevation facing Bridge Street features three storeys constructed of coursed stone, with bands separating the storeys. The top floor has a large early 20th-century window on the left, which has a rendered lintel, a mullion, and a transom with ten lights. The right-hand section of the building projects forward and is rough rendered, with rusticated quoins, situated above a War Memorial tablet. The right-hand section is gabled and consists of four storeys, also made of coursed stone with bands between the storeys. Each floor has two windows with glazing bars, while the first and ground floors have hung sash windows with glazing bars and stone lintels. The elevation facing Potter Hill includes four windows with glazing bars on two floors, situated above a modern semi-circular entry extension that is two storeys high and made of stone. Memorial Hall is part of a group of buildings on an important site and visually connects with premises on Beck Isle and Potter Hill.
