Description

Embsay Station Cabmen's Shelter is a mid-19th century cabmen's shelter made of timber with a felt-covered roof. It features a central entrance with an 8-panel door, where the upper four panels are glazed, and the top two have ogee-headed tracery. There are four two-light windows with transoms and mullions, also adorned with ogee-headed tracery and flanked by cusped consoles that support the projecting eaves. The shelter has three similar consoles on the half-hipped hood or roof, which includes a metal plate with "CABMEN'S SHELTER" stenciled and cut out for ventilation. Simple wooden finials are present at the gable ends.
