Description

These buildings, numbered 8 to 11 on Market Place, have origins in the 18th century. They are two storeys high with attics and a basement, constructed in red brick, and have a hipped pantile roof. There are two dormers, each with two casement windows featuring no glazing bars. Four small windows are present, with flush frames and glazing bars. On the ground floor, number 9 has a late 19th-century shop front. Number 10 retains remnants of an earlier 19th-century shop front, while number 8 has two small windows. The other ground-floor windows are modern. A single-story, pantiled extension projects to the left. The buildings are part of a group which also includes those on Market Place and Clothing Factory, Sandgate.
