Description

Nos 9 and 10 Sandgate are buildings with probable origins in the 16th century. They were originally constructed as a single unit and feature a combination of stone, brick, and timber framing, now rendered. The buildings have a steeply pitched pantiled roof and consist of two storeys with attics. Inside No 9, the original plain hammer beam roof is visible, along with beamed ceilings. There is one flat-topped dormer. The front of No 9 includes a 19th-century and modern shop front, with a window to the right that has a wooden surround and no glazing bars. No 10 features a small 19th-century shop window and a plain door. All the listed buildings in Sandgate are part of a group.
