Description

The Silver Grid, located at No. 4 Market Place, is a 17th century building that stands two storeys high with attics. It features two sloped dormers in a pantile roof and has a plastered jettied timber framing. The façade includes three windows with wood architraves and double-hung sashes that have early glazing bars. A modillion eaves cornice adds to its architectural detail. On the ground floor, there is one modern shop window on the left and two double-hung sash windows with glazing bars. Access is provided by two steps. The Silver Grid is part of a group of listed buildings in Market Place and the Clothing Factory, Sandgate.
