Description
Numbers 97 and 98 on Church Street are 18th-century buildings that stand three storeys tall and are constructed of brick. They feature a stone-capped parapet and have four windows with elliptical arches that are slightly recessed. The windows are fitted with late 19th-century four-light casements that do not have glazing bars. There are also two late 19th-century shop fronts with fascia supported by consoles, which have later glazing. A passage entry is located to the left of the shop fronts. These buildings are part of a group that includes the former White Horse Inn, the Black Horse Public House, and several other consecutive properties on Church Street.
