Description

The buildings at 143 and 144 Church Street date from the 18th century. They are two storeys in height, constructed of brick, and have a pantile roof. The front elevation features two 19th-century two-storey canted oriels, each with four lights and wood mullions. These have rendered surrounds and modern paired windows to the right. Number 143 has a single glazed basement window with a flat brick arch, along with a modern canted bay window. Number 144 has a single four-light mullion window with a flat brick arch. Both properties have a four-panel door. The buildings are included on the list due to their prominent position within a group of other buildings along Church Street, namely numbers 119 to 123A, the Board Inn, numbers 126 to 135, numbers 137 to 151, and numbers 153 to 157.
