Description
This building is a hay barn located 30 metres north of Asenby Hall, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in English bond on a stone plinth, topped with a pantile roof. The barn features five bays and has a central cart entrance with a segmental arch and plank doors that have 19th-century strap hinges. There are ventilation holes arranged in diamond patterns, and the remains of a brick dovecote that was formerly attached to the left end. The barn also has remnants of a stone slate eaves course, ashlar gable coping with remains of kneelers, and a stone ridge. The left side has blocked ventilation slits. This barn is included in the listing partly for its group value with nearby structures.
