Description

Priory House is a house dated 1743, although it was likely re-faced in the early 19th century. It is constructed of roughcast coursed rubble and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and five bays. The central entrance consists of a four-panel door set within an ashlar Tuscan doorcase, which has a frieze inscribed with the words 'DUM SPIRO SPERO J S 1915'. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, positioned under monolithic sandstone lintels. There is a sundial located between the third and fourth bays, and above it is a stone with a weathered inscription that reads "H I A 174(3)". The house has stacks at both ends and between the fourth and fifth bays.
