Summer House Approximately 10 Metres To West Of House

The summer house, located approximately 10 metres to the west of the main house at Grimston Park Estate, dates from around 1840 and has late 20th century alterations. It is attributed to the architect Decimus Burton. The structure is built of sandstone ashlar with marble dressings and is a single storey with five bays. It features a central tetrastyle Corinthian portico, which has a frieze adorned with inset marble plaques depicting a medallion head and a nymph. The entrance consists of a glazed double door, and there are engaged pilasters at the corners. The building has multi-paned 20th century windows throughout, along with a frieze, a cornice, and a low parapet at the centre. This summer house is included for its group value with the surrounding structures.
