Description

Barossa Cottage is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared stone with a pantile roof. The building has two bays and two storeys, although at the time of listing in 1970, the right-hand bay was only one storey and lower than the other. The central entrance features a board door with a flat arch above it. The windows are 8-over-8 pane hung sashes, with a former 4-pane side sliding sash to the left and a 16-pane side sliding sash to the right. The lower windows have flat arches with voussoirs, while the first-floor window has a stone sill. The right-hand side of each bay is adorned with shaped kneelers and stone coping. The cottage is included in the listing for its group value.
