Description

Borrowby Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of coursed squared stone and has a pantile roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays, with a one-storey, one-bay extension to the right. The central entrance features a boarded door with a stone lintel above it. To the left of the entrance is a blocked opening with a stone lintel and a window, while to the right are two windows and the extension. All windows are 12-pane side-sliding sashes with stone sills, and the ground floor windows have stone lintels. The main block has shaped kneelers and stone coping, with a ridge stack at the centre; a stack at the left end was also present in 1970 when the building was listed.
