Description
This is a group of three chest tombs dating from the late 18th century, located approximately 5 metres south of the blocked priest's door of the Church of Saint Michael. They are constructed from sandstone ashlar. The tomb closest to the church features an inscription on the west end commemorating Sam Peacock, who died in 1768. The central tomb has fielded panels on its sides, with a skull and cross-bones on the west end and an hourglass on the east end. The third tomb has console-section sides and ends, with a cherub depicted in the centre on the northern side.
