Description
This drinking fountain, located approximately 15 metres west of Farnley Lodge, was built in 1897. It is constructed from ashlar stone and features bronze and iron elements. The fountain has a semicircular bowl, a tap, and a bronze plaque that is framed by scalloped and foliated brackets. Above this, there is a round arch inscribed with the words "She wrought her People Lasting Good," all topped with pointed gabled coping. The plaque includes a profile of Queen Victoria, the dates 1837 and 1897, and is signed by F. J. Williamson. The fountain was erected to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
