Description
Nos 81 and 82 Bondgate in Ripon are probably from the 16th or 17th century, although they have 18th or early 19th century features. The front is made of colour-washed brick. The southern part is timber-framed, with part of one truss visible inside, which is arch-braced and wind-braced. The south wall retains its timber sill, indicating it is the north wall of an adjoining house. The roof is pantiled with stone slate verges. The building has two storeys and three bays, featuring two 19th century cased sash windows and one Yorkshire casement window from the 18th or early 19th century with glazing bars. There is a mid-19th century wooden shopfront with four pilasters supporting an entablature, framing a shop window and a door with six sunk panels. Additionally, there is a segment-headed passage entrance.
