Description
The premises occupied by the Betting Office, located at 1811 Golden Lion Bank, date back to the 18th century. This three-storey building is constructed of painted brick and features a pantile roof. On the front, there are two windows: one is a fixed light with an opening casement, while the other, to the right, is also a fixed light set within a segmental architrave. To the left on the first floor, there is a later canted oriel supported by a wooden base. The ground floor has a plain pilastered 19th-century shop front, which includes a half-glazed door to the left and a painted tiled stall riser. To the right, there is a door with six panels topped by a rectangular fanlight. All the listed buildings in Golden Lion Bank are part of a group.
