Description

Nos 47 and 48 Flowergate are mid-18th century buildings that stand three storeys tall and are constructed of brick with a pantile roof. They feature an eaves cornice and painted stone bands between the storeys, as well as stone rusticated quoins. The façade includes five windows with flush frames, painted brick arches that have keystones, and double-hung sashes with glazing bars. There is a 19th-century shop front on the left, alongside a rusticated passage arch with a triple keystone. To the right is a modern shop front, but remnants of an early 19th-century pilastered shop front can still be seen. At the rear, there is a court that includes a two-storey whitened wing with an overhang above the ground floor. Nos 47 to 50 Flowergate form a group with No 1 St Anne Lane.
