Description
The Golden Lion Public House is an inn located at No. 8 Golden Lion Bank, with origins dating back to before 1714. The front elevation, however, is from the late 19th century and features three storeys with two windows and segmental arches. The public house has a shop front adorned with Doric pilasters and a fascia displaying its name. The rear elevation is of 18th-century origin, constructed in brick and consisting of two storeys. It includes a small modillion cornice and a five-light sash window, along with a round-arched staircapse window to the left that has some modern glazing. The ground floor has been modernized. The building is listed as part of a group with No. 1 and other nearby premises, highlighting the collective historical significance of the listed buildings in Golden Lion Bank.
