Description
Nos 21-27 Market Place is a corner block of houses dating from the 18th century. The building is constructed of brick and rendered, featuring dentilled eaves and a band at the first floor, topped with pantile roofs. It has two low storeys. Nos 21 and 25 have late 19th-century shop fronts; No 21 features spindly columns, while No 25 has arch-headed lights in the upper part of the window. No 23 includes a panelled door and a sash window with later glazing. The eastern-facing Nos 21-25 have a total of three first-floor sash windows in flush wooden cases with glazing bars. No 27, which faces north at the rear, consists of three bays and has a late 19th or early 20th-century shop front, a panelled door with a rectangular fanlight, and a central blind panel on the first floor along with sash windows featuring later glazing.
