Description
The Royal Public House is an early 19th-century public house located on the north side of Thirsk Market Place. It is constructed of brick and has been whitewashed, topped with a 20th-century slate roof. The building stands three storeys high and features two bays. The ground floor has a later 19th-century wooden doorcase with brackets and two canted bay windows. The first floor is adorned with 16-pane sash windows, while the second floor has unequal sashes. There is a 20th-century extension at the rear, which is not of particular interest, but the building is included in the listing for its group value.
