Description

This is an early 19th-century shop located on the corner of Market Place and Windross Square in Easingwold. The building is constructed of red-brown local brick with cogged eaves and a pantile roof. It occupies a corner site, with three bays facing north and two facing west. The north elevation features two half-glazed doors with oblong fanlights and painted lintels, along with two later bow windows set within wooden surrounds. The first floor has 16-pane sash windows in flush wood architraves with painted lintels, including a keyblock detail. The west elevation has a central six-panel part-glazed door with an oblong fanlight containing glazing bars, and a splayed painted lintel. Later additions include a bow window to the left and a modern shop front to the right. The first floor on the west side also contains a mix of 12-pane and one 16-pane sash windows within flush wood architraves.
