Description
The gatepiers, gates, and railings at East Lodge in Clifton on Yore date from around 1800. They are constructed from ashlar stone and feature wrought-iron gates. The main gatepiers are flanked by railings set on a stone plinth, with end piers at each side. The main gatepiers include a plinth, band, frieze, cornice, and shallow pyramidal caps. The double gates have a plain mid rail, dog bars, and spiked bars. On either side, a low wall supports spear-headed finialled bars and additional dog bars. The smaller end piers are designed similarly to the main gate piers.
