Description
The gatepiers, gates, and railings at Glandovan Lodge date from the early 19th century and serve as a formal entry to the estate. They feature four rusticated gatepiers made of Cilgerran stone, each adorned with fluted friezes, pyramid caps, and cast-iron urns. The double main gates are similar to those found at the stable court of Glandovan, with top-rails that ramp down to the center, scrolled spearheads, and curved strengthening bars. On either side of the main gates, there are pedestrian gates that have down-curved top-rails and Y-outline strengthening bars. Additionally, low serpentine stone walls with slate coping and spearhead iron rails flank the gates, with the northern wall ending at a slender rusticated stone pier.
