Description

This is a terrace of four houses located on Langton Road in Norton-on-Derwent. Constructed in 1855, as indicated by a datestone, the terrace has seen later alterations, including a reroof and rear extensions. The houses are built of variegated brick in a double Flemish bond, with red brick detailing. They have a slate roof.

The terrace is three storeys high. Each house has two bays, with the exception of number 2, which has three. The doorways feature four-panel doors with bordered overlights, set within door cases of pilasters and entablatures. Canted bays with 6- and 12-pane sashes are present on the ground floor. The first and second floors contain 12-pane sashes, all with segmental arches and quoined jambs. A raised sill band runs along the first floor, and painted stone sills are found on the second-floor windows. The datestone above the sill band on the right side is inscribed "ST PAULS CORNER ANNO DOMINI 1855 LAUS DEO." The roof features wide, overhanging eaves, and end, centre, and centre left and right ridge stacks.
