Description
Crakehall Mill House is an early 19th-century house located in Crakehall. It is constructed from rubblestone with a rendered finish and features a roof made of pantiles and graduated stone slates. The building has three storeys and two bays, along with a lower L-shaped bay and a two-storey wing on the right.
The main entrance consists of a central four-panel door with an overlight, set within a recessed surround that has a cornice. This is flanked by 20th-century casement windows and canted bays that include friezes and cornices. On the first floor, there are four-pane sash windows beneath segmental brick arches with stone sills. The second floor features four-pane casements, with windows placed irregularly across the upper two storeys—one to the left and one just to the right of centre. The roof has three rows of stone slates topped with pantiles, and there are end stacks.
The lower wing has four-pane sash windows and an end stack to the right, and it also has a stone slate roof. The house is included for its group value.
