Description

St Edmunds Cottage is a late 18th-century house located on the west side of The Green in Crakehall. The house is constructed of coursed squared stone with a machine tile roof. It is two storeys high and originally had four bays. The front features a half-glazed door set within a plain stone surround, featuring a raised plinth, keystone, flush imposts, and a bead-moulded inner edge. To the right of the door is a large 20th-century casement window set under a cambered stone arch, and to the left is another 20th-century window. A double garage door is located in the left-hand bay. The first floor has 2-pane sash windows, with a dummy window positioned above the front door. All windows have stone sills and flat stone arches. The roof has shaped kneelers, stone coping, and an end stack on the right-hand side, with an additional stack along the ridge.
