Description
Nos 1 to 4 Montpellier Gardens are a group of early to mid-19th century buildings that stand three storeys tall and have cellars. Each building features two windows. They have slated roofs with bracketed eaves cornices and are constructed from grit stone ashlar. The windows are recessed sash types, most of which have glazing bars and margin lights. The first floor includes splayed bay windows supported by pilasters, which carry an entablature with a projecting cornice and a carved hood board. The ground floor has projecting shopfronts with pilasters that support an entablature fascia. The shop windows and doorways have been altered. The house doorways are flanked by pilasters and feature patterned rectangular fanlights and panelled doors, which are accessed by steps. Nos 1 to 6 Montpellier Gardens form a group with the return of No 34 Montpellier Parade.
