Description
The canopy to the south of Skipton Railway Station was built in 1876 as part of the station designed by Charles Trubshaw for the Midland Railway. It is made of cast iron and features glazed hipped roofs. The canopy consists of five bays supported by twelve cast iron columns, each with capitals and ornate iron brackets. Each bay has its own hipped glazed roof, which is supported by two segmental iron trusses and topped with elaborate iron finials.
