Description

The Craven Hotel, dating from the mid-19th century, is constructed of painted stone with a hipped slate roof. It has a square plan and two storeys. The main entrance is a panelled door set within a Tuscan doorcase, which includes two attached columns, a frieze, and a blocked cornice. A moulded stringcourse runs along the facade. The ground floor has two 12-paned sash windows, with three above. All windows are set within moulded architraves, and the centre window on the upper floor features a dentilled cornice supported by brackets. The left-hand return side features a central doorway, now converted into a window, and a largely identical facade, though this side uses pilasters instead of columns.
