Description

Hill Farmhouse is a house built in the early 19th century, with an extension added in 1851, as noted on the datestone. It was constructed for the Wykeham estate and features squared sandstone with a pantile roof and rendered stacks. The layout includes a central stair hall plan that is two rooms deep, with a rear service wing added later. The building is two stories tall and has a three-window front, along with a single-storey projecting porch. The central entrance consists of a glazed door within the porch, and throughout the house, there are 16-pane sash windows with stone sills. All openings have chiselled lintels, and the gables are coped with shaped kneelers. There are end stacks, and at the rear, there is a 16-pane sash window with the datestone above, which is inscribed: M B D L 1851.
