Description
The White House is a house that likely dates from the late 18th century, with alterations and extensions made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed from hammered sandstone and features a pantile roof.
On the garden front, the house has two storeys and three windows, along with a one-storey porch and a bay window extension added to the left end, and a one-storey extension to the right. The porch contains board double doors to the right of a four-light bay window. To the right of the door is a squat six-pane sash window, which is situated beneath a bordered tooled lintel that includes an oval date panel inscribed with "JS 1846". There is a three-light casement window at the right end, and similar windows flank a two-light casement on the first floor. All windows have renewed lintels, and the casements are all six-pane. The house features coped gables and block kneelers, with end and centre right stacks. The right extension includes a 20th-century French window.
On the road front, there is a round-arched staircase window with a margin light beneath a radial-glazed head.
