Description

The Towers is a building dating from around 1860, constructed for a local brewer. It features a castellated design with coursed rock-faced stone and stands two storeys high, with three-storey machicolated turrets at each end of the main block. The building has machicolated battlements and pointed casements that include drip moulds above them. Large central double doors are set beneath a moulded arch in the Norman style, flanked by buttress piers. There are single-storey wings designed in a similar style, and to the right, there is a conservatory topped with iron cresting. The overall appearance is picturesque.
