Open hall house. Probably C16, with C20 restoration. Timber frame, thatch roof. 3 1/2 bays, with storeyed solar at right end; through-passage and rear aisle removed c.1968; large C20 single-storey extension set back on left not of special interest. C20 rubble plinth. Sole plate, mid-rail, wall plate with arched braces from wall posts except in smoke bay between 1st and 2nd main bays; inserted close studding; oak board door in first bay; 3-light window on first floor of 2nd bay; a 2-light window on each floor of 3rd bay. Hipped roof. Brick ridge stack to right of door. Rear: brick infill to frame inserted since removal of rear aisle. Interior: jowelled posts; right-bay has arched braces to cambered tie beam which has mortices from former partition walls,lambs-tongue stops to chamfered cross-beams, stop-chamfered joists and wide lst-floor boards; smoke hood inserted in smoke bay has stop-chamfered bressummer and hearth post and chamfered heck post; common rafter roof with clasped side purlins; C16 and C17 panelling inserted in left bay.
