Description
Number 9 St Ann's Staith is a building with origins in the 18th century, believed to be located on the site where General Peregrine Lascelles was born in 1685, who fought at Prestonpans. The building stands three storeys high with attics and is rendered with a slate roof. It features a coved eaves cornice, two gabled dormers, and two windows with moulded shouldered architraves, frieze, and pediment. On the first floor, there are two early 19th-century rectangular oriel windows with panelled bases and plain pilasters, each having four lights, a bolection moulded frieze, and a cornice with a pedimented centre, without glazing bars. The ground floor has a door with four fielded panels to the right, set in a glazed wood surround, along with double yard doors also to the right.
