Description

The premises occupied by The Star Cafe date back to the 18th century and consist of three storeys built from stone. The building features rusticated quoins, a cornice, and a parapet. There are two windows with shouldered architraves, and a band that continues across the heads and cills of the windows. On the first floor, the two windows have plain stone architraves with a cornice supported by consoles, and the band continues across the cills. The windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars. The ground floor has a shop front that dates from the 19th century and modern alterations, and it is curved to fit the site. The Star Cafe, along with the Warden's House and The Missions to Seamen, form a group of buildings.
