Description
The outbuildings to the north of Potto Grange, along with an attached wall, date from the early 19th century. They comprise a stable, granary, and coach house, constructed from part coursed stone and part red brick, with a pantiled roof featuring stone copings and kneelers. A two-storey stable-granary runs east from the north end of the house, while behind it is a two-storey stable that extends north, with a one-storey section at the north end and a short return to the northeast. To the east of the stable-granary is a two-storey coach house, currently used as a garage, which has a twelve-storey rear range. The granary and garage buildings frame the entrance to the stable court. The granary features two wide bays, with a round-arched blocked window to the left and a pitching eye above. Other openings are partially boarded and partially glazed, and there is an external stone stair on the east return. The garage includes a large elliptical-arched carriage entrance with alternating tooled voussoirs, along with a small door and window to the right and an eye above. The rear ranges have doors set in chamfered stone surrounds. The northern range backs onto a tall stone-coped wall, which ramps down at the center and end, while the remaining wall extends west from the northwest corner. The northernmost one-storey ranges and haybarn to the east are not of interest.
