Description
Potto Grange is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century and the early 19th century. The earlier section, which is now the domestic rear wing, is built of white-washed brick and features a corbelled brick cornice and a pantiled roof. The later part, now the main front range, is constructed of brownish-red brick set on a stone plinth and has a Welsh slate roof. The building is two storeys high with three bays, featuring a symmetrical six-panel door with an overlight in an open-pedimented Roman Doric doorcase. Sash windows are topped with gauged flat brick arches, and the roof is hipped. There is a full-height segmental bow on the right return. The two-storey, three-bay rear wing has sash windows on the east front and Yorkshire lights above French windows on the west. A 20th-century extension to the front range is not of special interest.
