Description

Lane House is an early 19th century house located on the north side of Potto Butcher Lane. It is constructed of coursed, square-tooled sandstone and has a pantiled roof with stone copings, kneelers, and chimneys. The house originally comprised three bays, with a fourth, matching bay added later. It may have begun as a two-bay house with an adjoining cottage on the right side. The front features a boarded door and a 20th-century panelled door. There are external, louvred shutters to the 2- and 3-light windows, which are 20th-century reproductions of Yorkshire sash windows set within the original window openings and featuring projecting sills. Chimneys are located at the end of the house and to the right of centre.
