Description
The stables, located approximately 10 metres to the south-east of Welbury House on Main Street, date from the early 19th century. They are constructed of red brick and topped with a pantile roof. The building has a three-bay plan, with the central bay being two storeys high and the outer bays one storey. The central bay slightly projects forward and features a 12-pane, 2-light, side-sliding sash window in a blocked former carriage opening, situated above a 12-pane casement window with a flat brick arch. There is a dentilled band and a gable with stone coping. The right-hand bay includes a board stable door on the left and a 6-pane casement window on the right, both with flat brick arches. The left-hand bay has a similar arrangement, but the door is blind. The outer bays have hipped roofs at each end of the building. This structure is included for its group value.
