Description
Rounton House is an estate house built in 1905, as indicated by a ceramic plaque featuring the initials H2FB, designed by George Jack for Sir Hugh Bill. The building has a pebble-dashed exterior on brick and a pantiled roof with brick chimney stacks, giving it a picturesque appearance. It is two storeys high with a three-bay central section and lower, set-back one-bay wings. There is a small extruded open porch on the right side. The ground floor features two and three-light sash windows in the main block, while the wings have casement windows. On the first floor, there are two and three-light casements that break the eaves, and all windows are fitted with glazing bars. The hipped roof extends into catslides, with small dormers on the sides. The tall chimneys are corniced with rebated angles, and there is a plaque set in a round-arched recess of the central window.
