Description
This well cover, located approximately 20 metres south-east of Birchfield Farmhouse, dates from the mid-18th century, though it may be older. It is constructed from ashlar and has a square plan, standing about 2 metres high. The entrance is on the south side, featuring a lintel with remnants of an inscription and a boarded door. The cover is topped with a pyramidal cap that has remains of an elaborate moulded finial.
