Description
Fringill Top Farmhouse and the attached barn are located on Stumps Lane in Menwith with Darley. The farmhouse dates from the late 17th century, while the barn was built in the mid to late 18th century. Both structures are constructed from coursed squared gritstone and have graduated stone slate roofs.
The farmhouse features a lobby-entry plan and is two storeys high with two bays. It has quoins and a wooden porch with a half-glazed door set in a chamfered quoined surround. On the ground floor to the right, there is a four-light recessed-chamfered mullion window, although two of the mullions have been removed. Additionally, there is a two-light window with one mullion removed. The first-floor windows consist of two square recessed chamfered windows, which may have originally had a central mullion that has since been removed.
The barn has a central cart entrance with board doors and a segmental arch, along with a board door to the left, both featuring quoined jambs. Inside the farmhouse, the entry leads to the side of a large fireplace that has a timber mantel beam.
