Description

This well cover, located opposite the gates to Old Sleningford Hall, dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed from ashlar and gritstone and measures approximately 1.0 by 1.5 metres. The cover is rectangular, with an open side facing north-east towards the gates. It features plain sawn stone jambs and a lintel, a moulded cornice, and a pyramidal roof made up of four courses. The water level within the well is below the current road and verge surface.
