Description
Old Sleningford Hall is a country house dating from the early 19th century, accompanied by an attached garden wall. The building is constructed of ashlar stone with a red brick wall and features a Westmorland slate roof. It has a two-storey, five-bay central block that is flanked by lower two-storey, two-bay wings, with the outer bays slightly projecting forward.
The main block has a central three-bay section that projects slightly and is topped with a triangular pediment. The entrance features a central 20th-century glazed door, which is flanked by pairs of attached Tuscan columns that support an entablature and cornice. Above the door, there is a tripartite projecting panel and a sash window with a shouldered architrave. On either side of the entrance, there are 15-pane sash windows, with additional sashes featuring glazing bars above. The building also has a first-floor band and sill band, along with a cornice and blocking course. The pediment is corniced and features a shield and laurel sprigs in the tympanum.
The flanking wings mirror the main block's design, with sashes that have glazing bars and fan motifs in semicircular recesses on the ground floor, and 6-pane sashes above. The roofs are hipped, and there are brick stacks flanking both the central block and the wings. The garden wall to the left is ramped, topped with ashlar coping and ball finials. The interior has not been inspected.
