Description
This well cover, located approximately 50 metres north-west of the junction with Church Street, is a late medieval structure made of ashlar limestone. It is a small rectangular building that is now partly buried in the pavement. The south end, which faces the road, features a blocked rebated opening at pavement level. The ashlar stones are crafted to match the pitch of the roof and include a verge projection and a roll-mould along the ridge. This well cover is a unique survival in the Doncaster district.
