Description
This set of stocks, likely from the late 18th century, has been relocated to Coronation Park in the early 20th century. It features pillars made of magnesian limestone that are square in shape, with board rebates and rounded tops. The wooden boards have been renewed and include two pairs of notches. Originally, these stocks were located on High Street outside the churchyard and were reportedly removed in 1848, after which they were used as gateposts, as noted by C. H. Allport in his 1913 work, "History of Conisbrough."
