Description
This is a farmhouse dating from the mid-to-late 18th century, with an early 19th-century extension and later alterations in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The front is built of orange-red brick in a random bond, rendered over, and has a slate roof. The rear section has a concrete pantile roof, and the porch and rear wing have pantile roofs. The house follows a central-stairhall plan, with a depth of one-and-a-half rooms, and includes a rear service wing.
The front facade has two storeys and three windows. A six-panel door with a divided overlight is flanked by a two-window square bay to the left, both set beneath a continuous pent roof. A twelve-pane sash window with a painted stone sill sits to the right of the door, and a similar window is located above. All other windows are four-pane sashes. The design includes raised bands at the first floor and eaves level. Coped gables, moulded kneelers, and end stacks are present.
The left return shows window openings with gauged brick arches, while the right return features an attic window with a cambered brick arch. The rear wing has a six-panel door with a divided overlight centrally located. To the left of the door is a tripartite sash window, and to the right, a later two-light window with large panes that slides horizontally. A sixteen-pane sash window is on the first floor to the left, and a four-pane sash window to the right. Stone sills are found on all windows, and all openings except for the ground floor window on the right have cambered brick arches. It features a coped gable, moulded kneeler to the right, and centre and end-right stacks. The interior has not been fully inspected.
