Farmhouse. Late C18, possibly incorporating remains of earlier house; late C19 and C20 alteration. Orange-red brick in English garden wall bond, with gauged brick dressings; rear wings part coursed rubblestone; stone coped gables with moulded kneelers to pantile roof, with brick end stacks, left one with dentil cornice. Central entrance hall plan, 2 rooms deep, with 2 rear wings. 2-storey 4-window front. Left of centre C20 small-pane glazed door and tall round-headed small-pane staircase sash above, in continuous frame. Left of door is full-height canted bay window, with shallow parapet and replacement windows incorporating small-pane French doors on ground floor. To right of door, 4-pane sash window. On first floor, canted bay has 16-pane centre sash between 12-pane sashes; to right, two 4-pane sash windows. Bay windows have flat arches of gauged brick; detailing of remaining windows obscured by creeper. Rear: window openings at rear of house have segmental arches; brick dentil eaves cornice. Right return: blind window on first floor, with flat arch of brick, now rendered. INTERIOR: full-height open-string staircase with slender turned balusters and moulded handrail, wreathed at foot.
