Description
No. 109 on High Street is a building that dates from the mid-18th century and has undergone later alterations. Originally two houses, it is now used as a single store. The exterior is rendered, and it features pantile and Welsh slate roofs. The building stands three storeys tall and has a symmetrical facade with two bays on each side.
On the ground floor, to the right, there is a flush door with a small overlight that leads to a passage, alongside 20th-century shop fronts. The first floor has 20th-century segmental bow windows, while the second floor features small 8-pane sash windows with flush exposed sash boxes, projecting sills, and keystones. A small dentil cornice runs along the top of the building. To the left, there is a lead rainwater pipe and hopper head, with ashlar coping in the center and to the right. The left two bays are covered by a pantile roof, and there are brick stacks at both ends and in the center. The building is included for its group value.
