Description
The building is a range of three cottages and/or workshops, now functioning as a workshop, dated 1751. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and has a corrugated sheet roof. The structure is two storeys high and features eight openings on the first floor.
On the ground floor, there is a blocked cart opening with a keystone to the left, along with three doorways that have chamfered quoined ashlar surrounds, draughted margins, and extended keyed lintels. The keystone of the central doorway is dated. The ground floor also includes side-sliding sash windows.
The first floor features sash windows with glazing bars, some consisting of 16 panes, and has projecting ashlar sills and flush exposed sash boxes. There is one loading doorway that matches the ground-floor doorways, as well as a small round-arched vent and another blocked vent. The building has dentil eaves and an external stack to the right.
This range has served as a printing establishment for over a century, notably printing Rev J L Saywell's "The History and Annals of Northallerton" by J Vasey in 1885.
